Eric Maruscak is an artist who has been appearing at pop culture conventions, art festivals, and trade shows across the Unites States, making giant chalk murals as performance art since 2004. He has appeared at the New York Comic Con, The San Diego Comic Con, The Long Beach Comic Con, The New York Anime Festival, Anime Central, C2E2, the Baltimore Otakon, The Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, Star Wars Celebration V and VI in Orlando, the World Science Festival in New York, a number of Wizard World Shows across the United States, and more.
Some of Eric's clients have included creating promo art for 2 seasons of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" on Cartoon Network for Lucasfilm, and creating artwork for the NBC science fiction epic "Revolution". Other clients have ranged from video game companies such as Nintendo(Metroid: Other M and The Legend of Zelda) and 2K Games (Bioshock I and II), anime companies like FUNimation (Soul Eater and Lupin the Third), Aniplex (Madoka Magica), and Viz Media (Blood Lad), Horror Icons such as John Carpenter and his ASYLUM Comic with Stormking Productions, and many more including ESPN, Warner Brothers, Marvel and DC Comics, and even work for the 10th Anniversary of Yu-Gi-Oh! Some of Eric's murals take over 30 hours to complete during the course of an appearance.
Eric also records time lapse videos of the entire process which are posted online after a show, and can be shared through various social media, blogs, and embedded into websites where they can be a draw for years after an appearance. Eric's time lapses of his chalk art have also been included as a bonus feature on the Season 5 DVD for the Clone Wars, released in October of 2013, and on the North American DVD set of Blood Lad from Viz Media, being released in Fall of 2014.
